Very helpful chapter on the origination of Marian doctrines and lay celibacy.
"Catholic theology den[ies] that Mary’s maternal role detracts from or minimizes the unique mediatorial role of Christ." Interesting. In the Philippines it is evident that Mary is (I'd go as far to say) more venerated than Jesus - simply looking at the sheer number of Mary statues in my neighbourhood attests to this.

SLOWLY BUT SURELY... Some really intriguing and informative chapters on the Catholic view of Christ's incarnation, original sin, and the Virgin Mary. The evangelical assessment at the end of each chapter also covers a range of evangelical viewpoints.
