Origin stories have been shared and I'm still confused why no one has explained womanhood to Eliza. Additionally, James is a gaslighting piece of garbage.

The character building has been slow between the three leads. I connect with the struggles of Caroline as age appropriate, Eliza is well written, but I'm having trouble getting behind Nella. This could be in part to the audiobook or the way in which she is written as what I consider both "my age" and older creating a mild dissonance.
