Interesting - it's not just a what-if with the rest of the world remaining the same. Certain world events (Vietnam War, for one) are influenced by the presence of super-heroes. Storylines like Secret Wars (if I understand correctly) come into play during the 80s section of the book. The point is - it's not just "what if Peter Parker aged in real time?"
