Freud is so out of his mind obsessed with sexuality it’s crazy

shouldn’t the client be formulating the nature of their own problems? or am i misunderstanding?

significant modification of the individual’s personality feels very controlling and also possibly like wanting to mold a client into who you think they should be or in this case who Freud thought they should be

but what about traumatic or major events that happen in adulthood? would it be argued that childhood influences how a person reacts as an adult to events that happen in adulthood? or is there a possibility, even slightly, that at times there could be a separation or lack of crossover?

i think generally there should be a focus on the intrinsic and internal conflicts and external conflicts as well as paying attention to how the two interact & influence and possibly exacerbate the other

yeah i am logging my textbook on goodreads so i can write longer notes here than i can in the margins.
