Longacre gives understanding on just how Custer, who finished dead last in his class at West Point rose to the ranks of Brigadier General at the young age of 23.
If anyone remembers Errol Flynn depiction of “Autie “ Custer, Longacre’s writing about Custer continues the goosebumps and excitement as “Autie” was more dashing than Flynn’s interpretation.
Highly recommended, it’s hard to put down.
