Archaeologize > Status Update

I'm so torn on this. I love the premise, I love the story. I don't like that gender and sexuality figure so much into the characters. I want LGBTQIA+ rep in my reads, but unless I'm reading a book where the drama is about that in particular...eh. It's the end of the world, 9 billion dead, and pronouns are a hot topic? Yes it's important but...it's also the apocalypse. Maybe it's more metaphor than story, though?
