Juan and Suan are popular Filipino names... starting to feel like I'm reading / listening to the adventures on one single Juan.

Just realized that, based on folk tales around the globe, kings sure have a lot of free time on their hands. Seriously why would a king spend so much time thinking on puzzles to stump their clever subjects with (and threaten with possible execution / beheading) instead of roaming their respective kingdom building public infrastructure, improving agriculture, promoting education, or eradicating homelessness?
