I am putting this book on pause for now. I just can’t sink my teeth in it. The development is lacking in plot and characters.

Honestly I am a bit disappointed in this book. There is not a lot of character development, and I am nearly 60% in and have yet to see the two stories combine.

On page 48, I admire how the radio show host (the Frenchman) described the brain dwells in the absence of light yet it creates beautiful thoughts that are full of light.

I love how the author enhances Marie-Laure’s other senses after she is completely blind. It is creative, and it helps the reader connect with her.

I like this so far. It’s kind of hard to understand some things Doerr is describing, and it’s a little hard to follow the characters, but I know this is how an author sets up a book for the plot. I’m looking forward to reading this book. He has great imagery and details.
