nietzsche discusses that “enmity” has value when you can understand that it is necessary to have enemies for a cause to exist (and, i presume he will get into this, why WE exist). from his perspective as a german, he offers the interesting insight that the reich needs enemies more than it needs friends: “only in opposition does it feel necessary.” in the same way, i think we exist in opposition of death.

and i guess there cannot be a “true” world that is observable to any person because by nature of being a person you must perceive it with reason.

our mental justification of what we observe can result in the deception of the self; it is NOT actually our senses that deceive us but our own minds. and so it gets into the question of whether our “real” world which has to be filtered through our minds in order to be perceives is “false” at least by nietzche’s reasoning.
