I watched videos where reviewers were mentioning that John Gwynne does not shy to killing off beloved characters....I didn't believe it at first but now I surely do....poor Orka...she lost EVERYTHING. I wish that Vesli would go with her to find Breca though, the companionship between Orka and the little dragon would have been interesting and fun to read, Vesli has sass!

Just got a glimpse of the magic system clearly for the first time in this series at the Holmganga between Sigrun's nephew and Virk...very interesting magic system, it reminds me of the 'shadows' in the Licanius....
