Reading for book club—this is a tough read and I do not recommend it for other sensitive readers who empathize with book characters too much. It’s really bleak and depressing and I could have done without the graphic descriptions of various war atrocities between native Americans and colonists. This is probably gonna be a 1 star book for me.
