I’ve figured out what’s missing:descriptions. Of anything. Of scenes, of people, of emotions. She just blurts out what’s there and moves on. If feels like she was so excited to get here so she left out certain details in her haste, but the the climax didn’t match expectations so she gave up

The finale of each book is really good. If you make it all the way to them, they’ll have you hanging by the edge of your seat. But they pass so quickly. Explanations and actions are understood by the involved characters extremely quickly, even if they don’t totally make sense. Action scenes are quick and to the point. Shocks are over in a single sentence. This could be even better if she just dragged it out more

I’ve begun to notice that there are very few action scenes. Which is realistic but not entertaining. Part of the reason why it’s so hard to keep track of everything that’s going on is that everything happens in the background. I’ve also noticed that these magical beings don’t use very much magic. Contrast to such as Harry Potter—characters always used magic—it’s anomaly when one uses a lock spell
