Percy Jackson was 12 in 2005. He is 17 in 2023. He was three years older than me, and now I am 10 years older than him. Crazy how that happens. The references to recent pop culture phenomena are pulling me out.

I had difficulty with it too. I haven’t read the other books in years so I wasn’t sure if it was because i read this as an adult that I didn’t love it or if it was just truly not as well done as the others. I ended up giving it 4 stars instead of 3 simply because of the nostalgia. Looking forward to your update when you finish.

Thanks friend. I just reread the first one and am planning on doing a whole read through of PJO and HoO. I was so excited when I saw there was a new book, but so far, it's doing nothing for me. I'm just glad I checked it out from the library lol.I also don't have a sentimental bone in my body lol. This can be good and bad.
