I am not sure what is more infuriating: the behavior of English colonists in 17th century New England or the white washing that their behavior received when we learned about 17th century New England in my primary and secondary schools. I have to hope that primary/secondary school education has become a bit more honest in the past 50 years.

Well, the English colonists in New England really were a nasty bunch in the 17th century.
