This is one of those books where I can respect that it’s well written and the characters are well developed, however the subject matter makes me want cry like non stop. I feel so bad for Rey. The whole wedding invitation scene made me borderline sick.

Wow this fic depicts the post war 50s extremely well. I’m kind of shocked with how the author represents the dichotomy of the extremely rigid social structure and the almost blatant disregard to safety (leaving your teenage daughter with neighbors you barely know for 2 weeks or driving drunk)

I was in tears last night reading the part where she’s crying for her mom. 😭😭😭
That was devastating because Malrev doesn't shy away from highlighting the fact that Rey is essentially still very very young 💔. It's heartbreaking the way she has to grow up so quickly. That was the most difficult part of the entire story. It does get better after the honeymoon though imo
It did get better after the honeymoon! My heart is broken though after reading this. Malrev really went for the throat in this fic and didn’t hold anything back.
