Definitely a shift in the book’s mood compared to the first book…. Feels like years apart but reality is only under a year ..
I would say book 1-3 was more the high school realities/minimal adult content of the characters & then book 4 was a hiatus to focus on personal growth/background.
And then 5&6 are more adult issues/content of character’s life. Life post high school.
