2 stories in and I remain unimpressed. I was expecting a book that had a new,refreshing perspective. This is not it. Are the protagonists less loveable? Maybe. Do they have dark back stories? Sure. Are they clearly the protagonist from any angle you look at it? Yes. These characters lack complexity and the stories rely on violence against women and children much more heavily than necessary.
