Even in a dystopian space opera, Priest covers all fields - military, technology, medical, economy - while prepping them up as overlapping chessboards so it feels like the characters are just playing some sort of 4D chess :') I had to pause reading mid sentence to reread LJH's monologue because it spanned over so much in less than a paragraph whew Priest's world building >>>>>>>>>>

One big reason why I shied away from starting CCP for so long is bcs I can't help but nitpick the science-y parts in sci-fi novels but pipi is so cute man; all her notes are like, listen it's all just fun and vibes here, overlook the technical faults pls and I'm like ok! As long as I get more of LBX and the drama involving him, his real daddy and his space daddy, I can overlook why AU is used to measure distance XD
