The plot is weak so far, and Persephone is very unlikable. Instead of portraying an intelligent and uncertain young woman who is testing her independence and finding confidence like the author is attempting, she comes across as spoiled and brash, not thinking her actions through at all and acting surprised and angry when people and events don't suit her whims. Disappointed but willing to continue.
