The first part is, so I have read, the best. Not an easy read, seems many Germans have bought it, but never did read or finish it. Not hard to imagine.
I read the first part, excellent, I like the mix of personal diary, newspapers news, family visits and German history, though the town of Gneez never really existed. I wonder what really happened to Gesine's mother, and where are the details on the father? To b ctnd.
