Imo, the first book was much better than this one. Jessica, if you didn't like the first one, I don't know if you should read this one. It's really dark, if that appeals to you

I just didn't like the main character. Everything else was great... Does Adelina improve character-wise?

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee welllllllll you're not really supposed to LIKE her because she is technically a bad guy but you can sort of sympathize with her? Lu did a good job making her bad-but-not-quite-bad
