every single prediction gioscia makes in this is not merely, but *aggressively* wrong, in a way that is really fucking brutal to read. unlike "The Sequel to Cities", to compare it to some other fucking book nobody else has read, gioscia has a soul, good insights, and meatier argumentation to see where his rationale went wrong

the vast majority of the time, it's because he's too optimistic about human behavior :(

channel i don't think it's his fault. he actually writes that humanity needs to move to zero emissions in 15 years -- in fucking 1974! five years after we put someone in space, i also wouldn't have believed that the rapists of our realities would, objectively, sooner dive headfirst into the extinction of the human race than in any way attenuate the rate that their income increases
