This is the hardest experience I’ve ever had reading a book personally. It’s going to probably take another year to finish it. I hope I can finish this without giving up.

Hell nah chapter 1 of part 2 was just pure exposition and narration interspersed with small moments of showing.

Dostoyevsky Fleshing out Myishkin, his protagonist through long anecdotes he gives is a fascinating way to contextualize his character.

The story he gives about the man who told him he said he would count and appreciate every moment if he had the chance to escape his execution only to not be able to do that anyways is interesting because the prince wants to do what he couldn’t.

Started yesterday on the airplane ride back into New Mexico for college.

Good so far. Lots of characters. I do love Dostoevsky but Im already overwhelmed. I get the general gist of what’s happening but I will probably read chapter summaries so I don’t miss important details.
