I am not enjoying the structure of the book and the use of present tense.
Being jerked from short chapter to short chapter breaks the narrative too much. It is interesting learning about Pinkerton and the detective agency and the various other subplots but it is like watching a ping pong match. If this were a television program I would have quit watching long ago perhaps thinking I would like the book more.
