finally at the sewer chapter!!! the timing is hilarious - characters dying tragically at the barricade, dramatic conclusion queued up, but dear Victor grinds everything to a halt to expound on Paris's rivers of poop. Tell me more about the thematic relevance of humanity's literal shit - we cast off our saving grace, we cruelly throw away what will nourish the rich soil of life, etc etc. The wretched indeed!
