Jack Watching Sunak's desperate speech last night reminded me of parts of this book. Once again the concept of the Nation is being cynically invoked to obscure international, class-divided reality. What do we have in common with Sunak? He's an absentee baron, only showing his face to show division among the serfs for whom the contradictions have become too stark.
