Merrow's Viking reenacters story and London's seaside fish and chips story were solidly enjoyable shorts: creative, easy reading, fun and yet still compellingly angsty. But not as wonderful as they could have been in a novel. The rest, meh. Short stories are a hard sell to me anyway.
