Off the bat, it's a gorgeous intro to the world-building and the magic system. I'm happy just to sit back and enjoy the setup. Love it when my reading plan and my mood for, in this case, Epic Fantasy, is in harmony.

I'm already in awe and immersed at this point, but holy fuck, I did not expect these chapters to echo so much leadership. Super inspiring! Pg 292 has an image titled "Codes of War" outlining military leadership principles. When I read it, I was like, why is this familiar? Then it hit me – it resembles the U.S. Army's Creed of the Non-Commissioned Officer, an oath I took many years ago! Loving this book even more!
