I’m going a little slowly through this, which I wish wasn’t the case because I’ve still got several more books lined up to read. A magician showed up in the book, so the “illusion” aspect of it is coming into focus. Also, the most recent character is a girl who tries on a bunch of different religions (because a lack of god made her feel “empty” 🙄) and falls in love with… Islam?? Weird final choice.

I picked this up at the library because I liked the cover. Also, the synopsis (it’s about a boy who was raised as a bird) was interesting. I was just going to add it to my WTRs but then I was like “screw it, I’m already here—why not just get it now?” So far I’m into it, although I haven’t taken down any notes. I don’t have the faintest inkling of where the story will go.
