How's this series so far?

It's very good. I'd say right now, I'd go with 4 stars. The first book was not my favorite. Mac is not very likable in the beginning. I actually don't think I liked her until book 3, but that is the point, because her arc is pretty huge. The writing style also took me a little getting used to. I didn't warm up to KMM's style until maybe mid-way into book 2. My only gripe (and I knew this going in so it's not fair to ding the series on it) this is not a romance. There are elements of romance sprinkled throughout the series, though. But I'm a romance junkie, so...
There is a pivotal scene at the end of book 3 that a lot of ppl have a problem with. I didn't. And each book ends on a cliffhanger, which I also don't have a problem with. The setting so far is all in Dublin and there are a lot of moving parts/characters that can be tough to keep up with at times. I still have no clue who is trustworthy or what anyone's true motives are, which makes it interesting.
