Okay, I’ve never liked characters so much and yet hated how their story was moving along. So formulaic and trite. Like, it’s so obvious by now that the plot could have been more simple, more organic, yet the author is applying the ol’ stall-to-death ploy where every time something that actually moves the plot forward is supposed to happen there will be a sudden interruption or diversion. I am officially in mourning.

I like the bar scene. Thank fuck there wasn’t more of Amy or even a peep of Nick.

Just realised if you hadn't read Prelude, you wouldn't know this Mike here is acting so out of character. Or maybe it would still be obvious. I mean, he pines after Eric for almost 7 years and then when he finally has him, he suddenly goes: OH WAIT, I FORGOT I HAD BETTER THINGS TO DO, DREAMS TO FULFIL, SO I'M GONNA DITCH YOU TO GO DO THOSE. LATER, BITCH. Because that makes perfect sense. Must the plot be so forced??

This was so perfect when it was just Mike and Eric. I'd rate the Prelude 5 stars hands down. But this had to have Amy in it. Also, it's weird that Mike is suddenly so unsure of himself. Like he's just making excuses to dally. (You know, just to prolong the plot??) If he was gonna dally, I wish the writer came up with a more in-character reason. Not the ever so lame I AM TOO BUSY TO HAVE ERIC RIGHT NOW. Really???

Amy is supposed to the hard-sell comic relief. But she’s all cardboard to me.

OK. I already hate Amy. I hate these overbearing, extremely presumptuous, and in-your-face female bestie types that are so controlling and suffocating. They think just because a guy is gay, they know better and should manipulate every aspect of their life. It almost feels like someone projecting and exercising the will on the characters. 🤮 I HOPE AMY DIES IN A DITCH SOMEWHERE.
