Read the first 20K pages, feels like sitting through a three month 24-hour astrophysics lecture ... BUT (typical for Stephenson) the novel is well written and also quite exciting.
I've reached a point in the narrative where I can, need to and WILL take a break in need of some no-tech fantasy. I will return to it though.
