I don't know how well my decision to read this as a mystery work with mythological entities is going to work out but having fun so far. The writing is very good and it has this sort of puzzle box approach that e.g. another of my favourites Kingkiller Chronicle has. More happens in Wyrd Gods to be fair but there are loads of open mysteries and mainly I keep reading because of the writing.

Engaging read. I would actually compare this most to Cosmere in terms of mysteries, worldbuilding, Easter eggs and interconnectedness. Writing is much stronger than Sanderson's but this idea of interconnected worlds, gods and humans shenanigans, a similar vibe to Stormlight Archive imo.

Nitpicks- way too many jumps imo. This is past A Game of Thrones complexity, less than Feast/Dance.

Pleasantly bamboozled.

The writing is the highlight for me, very beautiful but very easy to read. I am binging knowing I will need to come back to stuff because it flows so smoothly. 🤭 Umm...chock-a-block packed with mythological references, they are explained in text without too much exposition but I think if someone knew them already, they might pick up on the cleverness more.

Writing is very good, so much that I am enjoying the exposition about the world. I am almost hopeful my zero background in mythology other than Indian mythology is not going to hurt my experience.
