The main character Joel is so determined to become a rithmatist but since he wasn't keen on homework he wasn't going to live his dream. Lately he has been studying rithmatics and it has taken up his time because he is so interested and even if the rithmatists think that he is a bit weird but he doesn't care what others think and I respect that.

This book is my favorite book and I haven't even finished the book yet. I don't like how Professor Fitch was replaced by that snitch Professor Nalizar and the missing rithmatists students gives the book more of an edge and more suspense. In the beginning the book started out with a very confusing story of a melee battle in Nebrask and I didn't know what was happening until the author started to talk about Joel the MC
