I rarely start a book without finishing it. I won't be finishing this one. Sears tries to weave many interesting threads into a cohesive story but fails.

To the extent I can assess this book, it is the convergence of 5 or 6 interesting histories that are very much in need of an editor. Sears attempt to tell the stories in parallel structure fails, at least from my perspective. I enjoy every paragraph, and sometimes every page, but it is far too fragmented to retain each chapter. Clinging to 3 stars but may be my first DNF in a long time.

Pacific Air has slowed my reading pace a bit, as I am not getting sucked into the narrative as much as I would like. About 20% of the way through the book, the story is growing a bit more engaging, and there are some interesting facts shared, but narrative remains quite fragmented, hopping from thread to thread.

Shows some promise but the writing, which is somewhat fragmented, has not drawn me in as much as I would like.
