He might be among the best prose writers of our generation. Now if he could only decide to write what to write ABOUT . . . Cruelty aside, good night, this man writes so well. I hope I glean some good habits. 1st-person was genius. Beyond that, I love how much he has thought the world out. I can feel the breadth of this universe. What a delight.

It says a lot about a book when the reason I take forever to read it is because I am afraid of the ensuing agony for the character. That said, the way Rothfuss TOOK HIS TIME to paint fantastic pictures and build deep history he skims over with the implication of later significance is FANTASTIC. It's different than Sanderson, but necessarily so. There are drawbacks, but thus far, it's been nothing short of excellent.
