But wait! He's graciously agreed to let her work. From home.

And now she has no desire to pursue the career she's dreamed of her entire life: "I want only to be a wife and mother."

This from the hero: "What I want to know is, why didn't you feel free to confide in me?". *Raises hand* I know! I know! Ask me! Could it be because you're rude, condescending, insulting, verbally abusive and prone to fits of temper?

The little boy to his creep father: "If you make Mother (Heather, our heroine) leave, then we're going with her." That's the smartest thing anyone has said throughout this entire book.

The "hero's" mother: "... (the cook & the maid) walk on eggshells, never knowing when you'll explode into one of your rages... Even (the dog) cowers whenever you enter a room." This doesn't sound like a man in love and betrayed; it sounds like a potentially dangerous creep.

With his temper and borderline abusive ways, I don't see how anyone could have a HEA with this guy. Run, Heather. And take the kids and dog with you.

Oh no. Heroine is having a TSTL moment.

I really don't like Brandon. And Heather is kind of cardboard.

"I must have you now, love. I can't wait another moment to be inside you, to taste your sweet honey." That's the hero's proclamation, not his manhood this time. And I think maybe I should skip Criswell's love scenes.
