Oh! I thought the lowercase “bell hooks” was a typo, but it’s not!

I wasn’t expecting this book to start talking about vegetarianism in relation to masculinity. Wow.

Letting go of a “free labor=women”? I don’t think capitalism allows that.

^ calling themselves “ore” sounds childish and coarse.
And since I’ve got boyfriends who call themselves “watashi” “Atashi” “Uchi” (and most other guys in my life call themselves “boku”) this oversimplification bothers me.
….but, come to think of it, my guy friends are not the “masculine” type…

I do agree with what he’s saying in here, but it feels like things are over simplified.

I’ve always felt frustrated about how some nouns have male role as a default: King=王 Queen =女王(woman king) etc.

And this groping thing in the trains.
One of my best friends is a guy, and he says that he’s fallen victim to groping too, but couldn’t say anything since he’s a guy and “men don’t become victims to groping”.

This Shiori Ito’s case hurts.
I had friends (women) saying that Ito is just saying those things to get attention or things like she shouldn’t make a huge fuss about it since it’s not a big deal….. and we’re all around the same age!!!
