The privilege & decadence of the authors life is evident, some of which comes from her class position and the period of time that she happened to exist. Still, she has thought about travel and tourism in a balanced and critical manner, which provides the reader with insights regarding the limits of knowledge and experience that can be garnered from any type of travelling. I only wish I was so well read and erudite.
