gone past the expected amount of pages for this book, lol. I'm halfway through it now.
Godddddd the descriptions of the city, atmosphere, gravity, Masters etc is fucking me up. This is so interesting. I kind of knew that the Tripods weren't the enemy. But this is just so fascinating to read about, better than "we walk along a field then stop to eat and rest".

I don't think the page count for this is right. There's 445 pages, not 224. Oh well.
On thoughts of the book, it's okay. Reads like a classic, in that it's really old and detached with its formal writing. The exciting bits are enough at least. I do hope it gets better in books two and three though.
