Although I intend to continue reading "The Other Valley," and I'm only on page 52, I'm finding the book to be a trying read due to a lack of quotation usage in dialog. The creative story is a quick read in itself, but the lack of quotations when characters are speaking impacts the flow of reading. I'm frequently back-tracking to reinterpret sentences first read as internal monolgue back into dialog and vice versa.
