All in all, I’m not loving it. But there is always something to take away. From this chapter, I liked these ideas:
Making a list of ways you can make the most of your lunch break.
Journaling at bedtime every day 3 things you’re grateful for or things you learned from that day (or ways God showed up. 🙂)

I also like the idea of creating a self care menu. I don’t like the name so much, but I do want to be a little more engaged and creative in this realm-not just watching tv or reading as my only options of recharging.

Thinking about incorporating the “pick your 3 things” (nonnegotiables for the day) and /or the Eisenhower matrix/quadrant (urgent/important, urgent/not important, important/not urgent, not important/not urgent.) Not sure if they will work for my situation though. Really, I feel like my systems at church are fairly effective. It’s at home that I struggle more.

I thought this was stunning: “Research shows that it takes on average 23 minutes and 15 seconds to regain focus on a task when you get distracted.”
Other takeaways:
-Productivity sprints are great, but I’m not good at taking meaningful breaks in between. I need to get better about doing something that replenishes my brain.
-I need accountability in some of my goals that I really want but aren’t happening.

“If you never make mistakes in life or experience rejection, then chances are you’re not venturing far outside your comfort zone or taking enough risks.”
GROWTH MINDSET: “Next time you make what you deem is a mistake, jot down 3 things you can learn from it”
…and my long time mantra: “DONE IS BETTER THAN PERFECT.” 😂
