Currently kicking myself for never picking up a Patricia McKillip book before... The prose is flowery but not obnoxiously so, she's able to be this descriptive but still get to the point pretty concisely. Really loving how she teases the mystery in this early part of the book. Absolutely hooked, read 60-ish pages last night lmao
