Perhaps we become aware of our age only at exceptional moments and most of the time we are ageless.
It wasn’t the machine that made noise, it was the self of the black-haired girl; in order to be heard, in order to penetrate the consciousness of others, she attached the noisy exhaust of the engine to her soul.
