Her older sister decides to live outside the house, her father is acting strange, and her mom is cooking all the time.

Cassie finds his clue, and goes after him. A school bully, Rhea Grimm, is on the same bus! They end up helping each other and forge a tentative friendship. Cassie's mother had moved out and has a boyfriend. The end is a hopeful one.
