She has a Notebook for Noticing, and a super smart friend, Jonas. Cassie's life is turning upside down and she can't locate the peacocks. Her older sister decides to live outside the house, her father is acting strange, and her mom is cooking all the time.

Cassie finds his clue, and goes after him. A school bully, Rhea Grimm, is on the same bus! They end up helping each other and forge a tentative friendship. Cassie's mother had moved out and has a boyfriend. The end is a hopeful one.
