it's interesting how most of what attracts elio to oliver is how comfortable in his jewishness, sexuality, and generally in his own skin he seems to be but everything real we see about oliver seems to show the opposite

by the end it seems that elio has become more like that imagined version of oliver than oliver ever really was, while oliver seems almost entirely unchanged

good coming of age, pretty mid romance imo
