So far, Addie reads as extremely modern even in the historical sections, like a woman born ahead of her time who has lived long enough to see the world catch up with her. Which is fine, but I feel like the appeal of these kinds of immortality stories (at least to me) is to see how a historical person would struggle with/learn from the way the world changes between their time and ours....
