Jonas as the main character in this book is given the job as a receiver given the knowledge by what we call the giver. We saw that in the society there is no such thing as a motion to have twins is an aberration and one must die. Jonas in the other hand learns what is to be human emotion to care for one and decides to do what's best for him and the child.
