Finished chapter on Freud—this is a very interesting book being a comparative history of semantics or Rhetoric/Aesthetics as the author says himself. By focusing only on theories of the symbol, he quotes from several authors only about symbols or signs, symbols or figures of speech or tropes or metaphors, by including what a symbol is not in the study hes able to touch on several disciplines in one volume.
