The two protagonists, Carter and Sadie, are practicing Egyptian Magic to stop Set. They must travel across the Atlantic in just a few days. Starting in Egypt, and heading to Arizona. Along their journey they face multiple struggles and challenges. And, in the end of it all, they are trying to save the world.

Set, the Egyptian god of Chaos, is rising to power. He entombed the main characters' father, who is hosting Osiris. Set is trying to destroy the world. He is building a large, red pyramid in Phoenix, Arizona. The pyramid is to be completed on Set's birthday, one of the five Demon Days. He vaporizes his minions who don't follow his orders. He is planning to destroy North America, and then the world.

Why did Sadie blow up the doors to the library? I think she blew up the doors to the library because they were locked and she wanted to be a rebel and see what was inside.

Why did Carter throw his cat at monsters? I think Carter threw his cat at monsters so he could get away.
